Christmas NO ways!
As we head towards the end of the calendar year, we are starting to look towards the season of green, red + Christmas parties. Unfortunately for some, they may be looking towards their last days of employment.
A Christmas party could be the focal talking point for months afterwards, but a lot of the times it can be for the wrong reasons!
Living in a fast paced society can lead to the thought of letting your hair down becoming the only thing on your mind! And when work is providing a meal and alcohol it can become all too much appreciated.
While we love a good party and celebration as the year comes to a close, there are 3 big NO NO’s when it comes to the office Christmas Party + we’re sure you’ve encountered them all too often!
DON’T dress inappropriately! Some companies are really lashing out on their parties these days and doing amazing things like a day out yachting, or to the races.
While it’s great to get out of the work gear for a change, remember that it’s still technically the work place and no one wants to be able to say they’ve seen the receptionist’s cleavage or too much leg!
DON’T think of the break up as a ‘night on the town’!
Sure your employer might be generous with the food and booze, but this doesn’t mean that you can act like you would at the bar on a weekend. You have a reputation to uphold in your industry and maintaining an air of professionalism at the party is SUPER important!
And while we know there are plenty more no no’s at the Christmas party the last and most important one is…
DON’T think that this is your chance to woo your colleague… those beer goggles REALLY do cloud your judgement. Even if there is chemistry between you, this is the last place you want to share that first kiss!!!! Talk about awkward at work, and possibly the loss of your job!
Remember that while your party should be loads of fun, work place policies still apply! Stay safe and remember…
A good reputation is more valuable than money.
